Sacajawea Orienteers

I began map making 1n 1993 when I hooked up with some excellent orienteers, and we formed Sacajawea Orienteers, a club local to the TriCities and Walla Walla, WA. I built maps of public spaces to hold our competitions on, using OCAD. OCAD is a wonderful tool, supporting perhaps the only internationally universal mapping standard in existence.

Here is an example of an orienteering map I contributed to back in 1999.

Benton County Emergency Services

I began my professional GIS career at Benton County Emergency Services, Richland, WA. I was entrusted with editing a very rough map of the county, with the goal of being able to properly locate every legitimate address assigned in our county. It was a daunting task, but the journey has been very rewarding.
